Most of the people who buy copper molds from Copper Clad Treasures use them as decorative wall hangings. We have had a few requests from people using them for other purposes. Some have bought them to make Jello molds. This is especially common at Thanksgiving time, and cornucopia molds seem to be the favorite for that purpose. Some have bought shallow molds for pate. One person bought a few molds for making prim cakes. Prim cakes are decorative cakes that are heavily spiced that are not meant to be eaten, but to only be used as decorations and for their subtle spicy scent. Sometimes they are called pantry cakes.

Molds suitable for prim cakes.
I can think of a lot of other ways to use copper molds. The fish shaped ones are perfect for fish and seafood mousses. The ones that are more of a dome shape are great for ice cream bombes. I have seen them used as planters and centerpieces. Molds that are lined can be used to make decorative cakes.
Perfect mold for a seafood mousse!
Do you have any other ideas on how to use a copper mold?
Very cool! I never knew about the prim cakes. My mom had a bunch of copper molds hanging in the kitchen when I was little, but never used them for anything. It's interesting to find out how to utilize them practically.
